Hearing on HB 103, requiring parental notification of certain course material, on March 7 at 9 a.m.

The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on HB 103 on Tuesday, March 7 at 9:00 a.m. in LOB 103.

The bill requires school districts or teachers to provide parents and guardians with advanced notice of content relating to sexuality or sexual education. It also requires teachers to make the curriculum available to parents or legal guardians when possible.

Hearing on HB 412, expanding the pre-engineering curriculum to K-12, on January 24 at 1:30 p.m.

The House Education Committee will hold a public hearing on HB 412 on Tuesday, January 24 at 1:30 p.m. in LOB 207. The bill expands the implementation of the pre-engineering and technology curriculum to earlier grades, beginning in kindergarten. The current statute begins pre-engineering curriculum at grade 6.

Hearing on SB 45, requiring all high school students to take a civics course, on Tuesday, January 24 at 9 a.m.

The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on SB 45 on Tuesday, January 24 at 9:00 a.m. in LOB 103. The bill requires all high school students to take a half-year course in civics in order to graduate.
